About Faith.

Dr. Faith Carini is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of nursing experience and a deep commitment to improving the mental health and well-being of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Since beginning her nursing career in 2012, Faith has dedicated much of her professional life to serving youth with complex psychiatric, behavioral, developmental, and substance use challenges across community-based, school-based, residential, and intensive outpatient settings.

Faith earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 2025. Her doctoral project, Project C.C.R.I.S.I.S. (Community-based Crisis Response Intervention Strategy for Interdisciplinary Standardization), focused on improving crisis response and stabilization for youth in community settings, reflecting her passion for reducing unnecessary hospitalizations and strengthening family-centered care. She currently practices within both a school-based day treatment program and a Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, where she provides comprehensive psychiatric care and collaborates closely with families, schools, and community providers.

A recognized educator, presenter, and published author, Faith has contributed to the fields of youth mental health, substance use treatment, psychiatric nursing workforce development, and crisis intervention. Her work has been presented at national conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, emphasizing evidence-based, compassionate approaches to care.

Faith's clinical philosophy is rooted in integrative psychiatry. She believes that optimal mental wellness is achieved through a thoughtful combination of traditional psychiatric treatments—including psychotherapy, medication management, and behavioral interventions—with complementary wellness strategies. She has a special interest in the role of nutrition, herbal medicine, supplements, sleep optimization, lifestyle modification, and mind-body practices in supporting emotional health and resilience. Her approach recognizes the importance of treating the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

As founder of Lakeside Integrative NPs in Psychiatry, Faith is helping to advance a model of care that blends evidence-based psychiatric medicine with holistic wellness principles. She is particularly passionate about pediatric and adolescent psychiatry, neurodiversity-affirming care, developmental disabilities, trauma-informed treatment, substance use treatment, equitable care, and helping families navigate complex mental health challenges through individualized and strengths-based approaches.

Through her clinical work, advocacy, education, and leadership, Faith strives to create accessible, compassionate, and innovative mental health services that empower individuals and families to achieve lasting wellness and improved quality of life.

Mission:

To provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care that nurtures the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. We empower children, adolescents, adults, and families to achieve lasting wellness through an integrative approach that combines traditional psychiatric treatments with nutrition, lifestyle medicine, herbal and supplemental therapies, psychotherapy, and community-centered support.

Vision:

To redefine mental healthcare by creating a model of psychiatric practice where wellness, prevention, and resilience are valued as highly as symptom reduction. We envision a future where individuals and families have access to personalized, holistic mental healthcare that promotes healing, strengthens relationships, and supports lifelong emotional well-being.

Core Values:

Whole-Person Care

We recognize that mental health is influenced by biological, psychological, social, environmental, and spiritual factors. Treatment addresses the complete individual rather than a diagnosis alone.

Evidence-Informed Innovation

We integrate the best available scientific evidence with emerging research in nutrition, supplements, herbal medicine, lifestyle interventions, and traditional psychiatric treatments.
